The food here in Singapore is absolutely unreal! We have seen so many new things on our plates in the first month or so and all we can say is the flavors are so complex and intense… No matter the cultural influence (Chinese, Indonesian, Malayan, Indian, Singaporean, etc.) there are so many options; spicy, sweet, salty, bitter, raw, crunchy, cold, piping-hot…
The “wet” markets are where you can find almost anything…
We love food and love to try and cook new things so this place has really got us thinking about what to try and cook next….. we started with a dish that we knew well…
Chicken roll-ups with tomato, feta & balsamic salad.
We couldn’t resist this all you can eat sushi place where we were in sushi heaven and we even tried octopus (very mild yet lots of texture and a little tough)
Then we got a little itch to try to make Tandoori Chicken (Indian dish – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandoori_chicken)
Before-
Post-oven –
I wouldn’t call it the best but it was a first….
See ya –

We spent a Sunday afternoon at East Coast Park. There are tons of things to do there, but we just wanted to relax and do the beach thing for the afternoon.

Ships everywhere…
We will go wind surfing before we leave Singapore.
Literally, the BIGGEST crabs we have ever seen. The one in the back left was about 5-6 lbs.
Shaved Ice with Fruit snack. It was pretty good considering it was 94 F outside.
This is the cable wakeboard park called Ski360 (http://www.ski360degree.com/). This activity will be done also.
Bags are packed and we are off! The drive from Birmingham to Atlanta worked out perfectly and we needed every inch of the 2015 Suburban.
The first flight (Atlanta >> Tokyo) was 12+ hours and the second flight (Tokyo >> Singapore) was 8+ hours with a 2.5 hour layover in Japan. It felt like FOREVER! They provided food…”chicken or beef”
Asahi beer helped the situation a little bit…
Well, now we can say we have been ‘through’ Alaska right!?
Eventually we got to Singapore 24+ hours later…..
More to come soon –
